Beaches

As the sun rises it lights up the waves, the beach, the bathing establishments equipped with sun beds and umbrellas, the children’s playgrounds, the gyms and the pools, the many restaurants for a casual meal barefooted in the sand.

The beach comes to life step by step, the early guests arrive and bath in calm and shallow waters, followed by families with children and active holiday lovers.

As the sun goes down the sea breeze of the evening cools the waves and the beach. The bathing establishments close and leave the place to nightlife, cocktails and dinners, music and meetings.

Safely on the beach

Bathing establishments are open, according to the regional safety protocol that guarantee health (Regional Law, Beach rules and regulations no. 1 2023). The summer season ends on 29th October. For this summer season the access to the beach is prohibited from 1 am to 5 am and beach establishments open at 7.30 in the morning. Beach equipment must be positioned safely (the space between the sun umbrella poles must not be less than 3 meters).

History...

The name (in local pronunciation Arcaton) comes from the Greek and Byzantine occupation dated back to the sixth century AD: "Archeion" is the name of a plant, the burr, which still grows spontaneously in some areas of the beach now occupied by the bathing establishments but which was once abundant on the desert shore of Riccione.
