Tutti al mare!

It's time for sun and sea baths! From 23rd May the bathing establishments and free beaches reopen safely.

Lifeguards and beach activities are happy to be able to return to welcoming tourists and residents, observing the safety protocols provided by the Emilia Romagna region.

On free beaches, beach regulations and rules are indicated by a specific signage which illustrates the right distances to be maintained between the sun umbrellas, which must be positioned where permitted. The same spaces will be reported for deckchairs or towels on the sand.

The name (in local pronunciation Arcaton) comes from the Greek and Byzantine occupation dated back to the sixth century AD: "Archeion" is the name of a plant, the burr, which still grows spontaneously in some areas of the beach now occupied by the bathing establishments but which was once abundant on the desert shore of Riccione.
