GelatiAmo - Riccione

Second edition of the event dedicated to Italian handmade ice cream with tasting, workshops, street market, music and performances.

Among Italian food excellencies the handmade ice cream proves itself to be a genuine product made according to traditional recipes, using natural and healthy ingredients. The town of Riccione celebrates it in many ways. From the many stands located along the main streets Dante and Ceccarini to the workshops where children can express all their creativity becoming ice cream makers for one day. From the itinerant performance Gelato Emotions by the World Champion pastry chef Sonia Balacchi to the unusual and surprising ice cream appetizers and cocktails created by the artists of the ice cream Cristian Bonfiglioli, Cristina Lunardini, Fabrizio Della Pasqua.

On this special occasion the downtown will be embellished with wonderful sculptures made with fruits and glass by Francesco Falasconi and Fabrizio Della Pasqua.

GelatiAmo is also a contest among Italian ice cream chefs, whose winners will take part into the final stage of Gelato World Tour.

The name (in local pronunciation Arcaton) comes from the Greek and Byzantine occupation dated back to the sixth century AD: "Archeion" is the name of a plant, the burr, which still grows spontaneously in some areas of the beach now occupied by the bathing establishments but which was once abundant on the desert shore of Riccione.
