RICCIONE CHRISTMAS VILLAGE

Santa Claus village, music and concerts, entertainment and performances in the whole town.

In the middle of the town, inside the shopping area of Viale Ceccarini, the long ice skating rink attracts both adults and young.

Walking in downtown you can chance upon Santa Claus and his reindeer Rudolph, tired and exhausted after long work and run to deliver presents, or upon a funny Yeti that wanders around to do some shopping. You can also meet bears, penguins, snowmen as you come near to Christmas Wonderland, the village created for all children, in the middle of which the Santa Claus’ home and workshop hosts a real Santa who receives the children’s letters about their Christmas wish list.

A tall Christmas tree is placed on the bridge of viale Dante, near the harbour, all white and full of large spheres.

The name (in local pronunciation Arcaton) comes from the Greek and Byzantine occupation dated back to the sixth century AD: "Archeion" is the name of a plant, the burr, which still grows spontaneously in some areas of the beach now occupied by the bathing establishments but which was once abundant on the desert shore of Riccione.
