The Villa Franceschi was built in two periods between 1900 and 1920. During the 20s the building was restored; to repair damages caused by the 1916 earthquake, and to renovate the building to satisfy the new owners. The back part and the small turret were added during this period.
The small hut in the garden hiding the well is a typical endowment in that period of the villas in Riccione in the 20s.
The prestigious concrete decorations were made by Guerrino Giorgetti, a popular artist from Riccione well-known for embellishing villas.
The Villa Franceschi now contains a Modern and Contemporary Art Museum.
